Victor Wooten Bass Workshop

Wassup pips,

Shout outs from SA - the land of .. well, blacks and whites and .. GMO fruits (their fruits are FREAKISHLY BIG!!) and.. lack of material, where dressing less is considered fashion!! LOL

Anyway, this updates about my latest endeavor in music, i.e. Victor Wooten's bass guitar workshop..
This guy is a "bass-philosopher / preacher" talking of issues like: -
1 - Notes (good to know but not soo important)
2 - Articulation
3 - Technique
and many other areas of bass playing that every bassist should know..

So get a copy of this video and redefine your bass playing. Check out his site or just google him to get all the vids he's unleashed..

Cheers

So last Sunday - church day - I was up n ready to go, but coz of time I didn't think I'd make it to NPC.. My kawa joint:) So I decided to go to Mavuno for the very 1st time after chickening out once or twice before.

1st thing on my mind was that the band is on point?! From The bassist to guitarist n all the rest. But my 2nd thot was 'aren't these the guys I see playing jazz n rumba with akina Hellon'? The pianist is that Rimbui guy -yes you probably know him..
So anyway, the service continues n Kanji's singing on point n there's mad psyche in the congregation.. Then he starts singing the next song that sounds a bit too familiar..
'I just wanted to know...
I found a REASON 4 MEEEE...
To change you why you should be...
The reason to start over nuuuu...
AND THE REASON IS YOUUUU'?!!!
(so maybe I dono the lyrics too well, but you get the picture)
Now.. Me being a rocker - not too extreme but I know my rock music - it hit me.."That's HOOBASTANK?!" They were singing Hoobastank lyrics for Praise n Worship?! Now I dono what the rules are about singing such songs for praise, but that just struck me as a tadbit wierd..(I'd been warned thou?!)..
The rest of the service was ok I guess.. One thing that jazzed me was the relevance.. Coz sometimes in other churches it feels like there's a huge gap between you n everyone else.. like ur the only 1 with issues.. N guys don't really get to know you..
But Mavuno n their comfort with secularism is on the other extreme side of 'the churches of thought'..:)
So where's the balance?.. N does it matter? Was God busy head-bumping to that Hoobastank re-mix?..
I put it to you...
Either way I wanna try out this Mizizi thing n see what all the fuss is truly about..
Nice week Bloggers..
